Miscellaneous Projects

Some of these projects are a little bit smaller, but many of them were still really fun to work on!

Face Shields

With COVID-19 came many calls to action. I produced about 200 of these for DU faculty. It was my first time making a silicone based mold and pouring molds with a resin. These face shields were manufactured for under $1.00 per piece.

Dartboard Cabinet

Alongside one of my best friends, Irene, I set out to create a Christmas present for her and her house. This was our first time dipping our toes into woodworking, but it turned out pretty well! We used finger joints on all the corners, small magnets to keep the doors closed, some molding to hold the chalk, and some chalkboard paint on the inside of the doors!

Marathon Coasters

My dad was wondering what to do with all of his marathon medals that he has accumulated over his life as well as a cool project for a piece of wood that he picked up in Costa Rica.

I started by cutting out the coaster inserts with a CNC and finished them by pouring a clear resin coat on top and polishing it.

Fisher Tricycle

This was another Christmas present for the Fisher family, who have greatly supported the Fisher Early Learning Center. These laser-cut tricycle pieces were painted by the students before being returned for assembly - a great way to tie it into the community!

Monitor Stand

I’ve been enjoying woodworking more and more, so this project was really just an excuse to try out some hand tools and interesting joinery. I chiseled out the Wedged Mortise & Tenon joints and had a blast making this piece! I think it is so cool that the feet of the monitor stand are held in place completely through the friction/compression of the wood itself - no glue, screws, or nails were involved in this project!
